
Michael Collins, a master craftsman in the world of guitars, launched his journey into luthiery after graduating from the prestigious Roberto-Venn School in 1992.
He has made Harpsichords, and Fortepianos while working for Hubbard & Broekman Harpsichords in Boston, Massachusetts and began making reproductions of Selmer style instruments in 2002 and wrote the definitive book describing that process , which was published in 2006. He made makes acoustic flat top guitars, arch top instruments, French steel string jazz guitars, and electric guitars.
His passion for precision and innovation led him to repair and build guitars before diving deep into the art of pickup design.
In 2017, while working with Fender Electric Instrument Manufacturing Company, makers of such iconic electric guitars and basses as the Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jaguar, Jazzmaster, Precision Bass, and the Jazz Bass, he became fascinated by the science of tone, sparking a new chapter in his career.
Since then, he has engineered cutting-edge hand-actuated and automated winding machines to perfect his proprietary coil-winding techniques.
